I ran the 5k in my teammate's tennis shoes

My legs are about to fall out from under me and
My mouth tastes like vomit and car exhaust but
It was nice not to think for a little while and
the pounding in my head feels better
than the pounding in my heart
and I'm tired of convincing people I'm worthy of their love
just once I want it to be easy
like falling asleep
just once I want someone to see stars in me
and not just the dust and dirt I'm made of
