cause you only live forever in the lights you make
when we were young, we used to say
that you only hear the music when your heart begins to break
now we are the kids from yesterday
~ my chemical romance

i wish we could reverse the spoken words,

words that sound

bittersweet.

losing you was hard,

loving you is harder.

letting you go is for the better.

you use your words against me,

leaving the glass that i call my body,

shattered more and more,

with every sharp vowel,

cutting into me like my blade,

the words you speak don’t mean harm,

yet your words are empty,

letting me believe your

bittersweet lies.

spoken words mean nothing,

reversible words are unimaginable,

they are as real as your promises.

you use lie after lie,

and yet still i yearn for them,

i crave every sharp vowel,

the scars on my skin are nearly proof.

i’m addicted to loving you.

using my words against me once more as you cry,

leaving the fragile glass of our bodies shattered,

broken.

just as we did to one another’s minds.

crying isn’t the only option now.

doors open as other close,

knowing,

walking out will never be an option.
