Why I Love Poetry
I immerse myself in poetry
And literature
It’s so beautiful and so disturbing
It makes you feel giggly
And you smile while trying to keep still
But it also makes you flinch
And lose your appetite
You get transported into another realm
And you feel like a princess
Frolicking through a courtyard
You feel the adrenaline and suspense of the next scene
And then laugh at how unexpected it was
You listen to music while writing
And feel proud of it once you step back
You share it with someone but they don’t quite understand
But you just smile and say,
“You don’t have to understand.”
It’s your own little secret
That only you truly see
This is what I love
About poetry
I just wanted to share what poetry does to me, I used to not understand and many people don't either but I love it now.. :)
