Between us flies
A final tear
As we end a friendship dear
And turn away to blizzard winds
Each to meet a fate
But this journey was the gate
Ahead, futures unknown
But grander for having known you, loved you
Marching through to someone new
Who, but for you, I'd never know
We twain will have our quest
But you, the first, are ever my best
In my eyes, at least, and you'll remember me
In this winter it is time to part
Know that you carry a piece of my heart
