Where my feet will take me, I cannot trust

Yet cannot help from trusting anyway…

Beneath me,

The jagged edges of coarse rocks cut like knives

I stumble and stagger as if trying out my new legs

Remember to breathe air as if breaking the surface 

Beyond me,

A tightrope, a balance beam, a rickety rope bridge

Which tells the story of many paths trampled underfoot

Funny how I ache already, without actually having danced 

Behind me, 

A life I am soon to leave for good, but am uncertain of

Is all this heaviness I feel a sign I must stand still?

Though I hesitate, I am now bound to push on

Where my feet will take me, I am yet to find out

Though I cannot help but look forward…
