Once the Christmas Spirits fly right into my brothers and I,
The attic, once cold and empty, becomes a nest full of merry.
We hide the dull, rugged walls with duvets of red and green.
The lone bulb, which flickered death, is killed by fairy lights.
We create a fort: one blanket and two chairs for support.
It’s not the picture in our mind, but we smile as if spell bind.
The attic is finished. Now we have to wait.
Twenty-three days until nestled in our fort, asleep like babies,
Waiting for the sleigh-bells song.

This piece is about how every Christmas, my brothers and I would always prepare the Attic for Christmas night where  watch a couple Christmas movies and talk, waiting untill sunrise to  go to the Christmas tree.
