Ode to Lightning
Fast and unpredictable
Your flickering body
Dancing alone
In the summer rain
As if you
Are the scope
Of the divine ones,
As if their eyes
Glaring
At mortals.
Your power
Striking, exploding
A harmonious night,
Illuminating
The tranquil sky.
Humans
Could merely espy
Glimpses
Of your sacred
Face,
Transient
And frightening.
So much I yearned
For stripping
Your dazzling
Veil,
Immersing in your brightness--
For receiving
Your heavenly
Blessing,
Touching the sky--
For dislodging
My indelible
Fear,
The fear of night--
For lighting up
The shadowed way
ahead,
Igniting my future.

This poem is to my shock to lightning's mighty strength and grandeur.
