Ocean

The sea was a sapphire

Wind whirled brushing hair out of her eyes

The sun beamed down gently tickling her skin

Still an unexplainable sadness tainted the alluring beach

Waves shattered the granule sand

The same place from time immemorial...

The earth just as she remembered

The same place she breathed one’s last

The place she grew up

Where she drew her first step

Her life, it reminded her of

Both her and the tide are so akin

Built of many components, so rich and full

The musk of pungent freedom

Calm, but ferocious, tearing down walls

Still the supporter of many

The idleness within the murky waters

Abruptly the heavens burst to rain

bang, Bang, BANG

Flooding the ocean

Burying her in sorrows

She didn’t try to swim, just asphyxiate

Forgetting, regrets, if only...

If only she took control of her life

If only she took the job

If only she hadn’t married him

Now she’s here

Maybe if she did things different back then

She wouldn’t

Be so

Alone.
