"Poetry, beauty, romance, love. These are the things we stay alive for." ~Dead Poets Society

Why can we

not love who

we want to

love?

We are hated,

despised,

abused for loving

the same sex.

We are told that

it is a choice,

but they do not

realize that it is

our blood.

They can pick our

brains apart,

send us to conversion therapy,

try to pray the gay away.

They can destroy us,

but we are who we

are and if they truly loved us,

they wouldn't want to change us.

So screw them for not

loving us.

Screw them for not

accepting every broken

piece of us.

Screw them for

hurting us.

I just want them to

love me again.

“When things get hard, stop for awhile and look back and see how far you’ve come. Don’t forget how rewarding it is. You are the most beautiful flower, more than anyone else in this world.”

That's nothing wrong when you are not straight. You have the right to love the person you want. Sexuality is not a matter.

The universe must be a teenage girl. So much darkness, so many stars.
--me

It seems funny to me--this poem starts with a plea to accept and ends with a plea for acceptance.
