-THIS IS JUST A POEM TO VENT-

Dear Nate

Dear Nate, words can’t express what you mean to me.

In a way you set me free.

Right alongside Andy and Ronnie.

If it weren’t for you, I might not’ve been here today.

Thank you for being there.

Because when nobody else does, I know you’ll care.

I learned at an early age that life ain’t fair.

Happy childhood memories are rare…

I’m sixteen now, yet I still feel like I’m teething-

Learning about life, and how it’s so deceiving.

Never did I imagine that everyone I love would leave me.

Some days I get tired of feeling,

Tell me, how do you make yourself believe your life has meaning?

You and I are a lot alike.

I used to close my eyes and try not to cry.

Every night was another fight.

When my world went dark, you gave me a light.

Listening to them bicker and argue when money was tight,

I would think about flying a kite-

When it stormed to see if I’d make it through the night…

We all do things that aren’t right,

But how could Pastor blame it on the wife?

I hope the youngest never see it and live a happy life...

I got a therapist to help with the noise in my mind,

Still I lose myself with every syllable and find myself in every line.

They don’t understand that you can’t run from Father Time.

Should’ve been gone a long time ago,

But it seems Mother Nature has other plans for me.

Will I live to be 50 years old? I don’t know,

But as long as it’s up to me, I will not leave.

Thanks to people like you, I know that I can choose.

I can be happy or give into the blues.

And when I don’t know what to do,

I know I can turn to you.

Dear Nate,

I want to say thank you...

The author's comments:

This poem is a thank you letter to Nathan Feuerstein, Andy Biersack, and Ronnie Radke. I would post this on an actual social media site where they could see it, but I don't have access to all that. Still, I just need to get this out there.
