A story has as many versions as it has readers - Winter Of Our Discontent

What the hell is life for, to just leave you more broken than before

Is there really anything that goes your way, well never for a full day

Of course, there are good memories, clinging with the enemies

Nothing I do gets me anywhere, and I'm in pure despair

Soon I'll be a wreck, drinking in a trailer home heck, maybe I'll even be in jail

My friends are distant, and I feel so nonexistent to them

But hopefully, I've changed for the better, never been one of those go-getters

Because life is a death trap, ready to snap,

and I'll never be prepared….

The author's comments:

This is a piece I wrote in a matter of minutes to get what was off my mind. And I know it's not that great of writing but I could care less what anyone thinks of it. Life can be difficult, I know but if your ever stuck on how to process the emotions on this rollercoaster just know that you're not alone.

It was honest. It was clear. Congrats on editor's choice.
