Sea of Division
It’s a funny thing, having online friendships.
We care about each other
As if a screen doesn’t divide us.
Let alone as many as
Several thousand miles.
If we don’t show up? We worry.
I’d give anything to be able to give a hug
To these people who became so close.
Some people say you can’t actually know someone
Who sits behind their screen.
But I say “why not try?”, because what I share with them,
It’s real. It’s all real.
But there’s a screen that divides us.
Let alone as many as
Several thousand miles.
