i think about you almost every night,
"whose arms do you lay in?" as i close my eyes.
i hope i haven't missed you yet.
each living in opposite, parallel realities set
by the universe, to tear us apart.
as i wait for your arms
to close around my waist, i dream
of a universe where we are seen
together, side by side, as i lay here
waiting in silence.
quiet eyes only heard by you,
your heart sinks as i wait for you.
you're out with friends wishing it weren't true,
that i am not right there
with you.
