magnicficent 

flower

a rich complex

of darker and 

lighter shades

of blood red 

It was said 

to be a 

devil;

a demon

in an angel

disguise 

Young 

confident

bashful 

men

would clumsily

shove these

disgraceful flowers

into a young

maiden's open

hands 

expressing their

undying

emotion and 

in return 

receive 

the woman

of their dreams

and hopes 

that they're 

meant to be 

But the 

flower 

was a curse 

a spell

cast upon
