The Coils of Jealousy                                                                                             


the serpents 

slithering 

wrapping 

hissing 

sleek toxic bodies 

invading my eyes    mouth ears

whispering their filthy secrets 

commanding my mouth

to speak their lies

distorting my notion of the truth

i want to cry for help

i want to reach out 

and grab reality by the hand 

but I’m trapped in the coils 

of jealousy
