Skylight
Once there was a skylight
It led to a yawning sky,
Revealing flecks of luminous light as the time stretched on
Night, a watchful companion,
To the girl gazing at the moon
Her dreams greeted the farthest star in their journey to the unknown
Thoughts lost to the fuzzy corners of memory floated through the skylight,
Carried by the breeze, peaceful in its tranquility
The girl would revel in the rare beauty of the night,
keeping her company until the dew shone on her face,
Waiting till the sky fell again to become anew
Somewhere along her journey in the day, she lost the key to the skylight
And now the world is forever closed to her
Leaving only the lingering sense of having lost something dear to her
