What if someone told you that you only had four years to live?

Four years to create memories that are expected to last a lifetime.

Four years to find the friends who are supposed to be there until the end.

Four years to build a relationship with someone who makes you feel like yourself.

Four years to express who you are to your classmates.

Four years to play on your home court.

Four years to receive the education you needed for college.

Four years to dance like there was no tomorrow the night of homecoming.

Four years to lose your voice cheering on friends in the student section.

But what if someone told you that the four years was too short?

What if I was the one who told you it was too short?

Four years later remembering all the times we spent together.

Four years later thinking about how much our lives have changed.

Four years later stressing over each of our new beginnings.

Four years later reminiscing when I’ll see my fellow classmates again.

Four years later wishing I was walking through those halls.

Four years later longing to play on that court one more time.

Four years later yearning to remember my classmates’ names.

Four years later dreaming of being in high school.

Four years.

Four years is all.

Four years is all you get.

Four years you need to put yourself out there.

Four years you need to teach yourself to never take life for granted.

Four years you need to live in the moment.

Four years you need to have the time of your life.

Four years you need to look back on with no regrets.

Four years you need to accomplish all the dreams you have ever had.

Four years you need to enjoy.

Four years.

Because four years is all you get.
