time and dreams
What if my dreams come true?
But it stayed a “what if” question
So, I began to think in the future tense
When my dreams are a certainty
I will conquer my fears
I will save the world
And my gravestone will read
“The woman who changed the world”
But before I know it,
The future rolls around
So, I began to think in the past tense
When my dreams have become memories
I conquered my fears
I saved the world
It’s a toxic type of daydreaming
Satisfaction without the effort
I revert back to the present tense
When I'm sitting on the couch
Sleeping and dreaming
And wondering aloud
