do you think
it’d be alright
if i showed up at your doorstep
one day,
after all these years,
and asked you
to come on an adventure with me,
to a town we’d never seen?
a place unknown to our souls,
where we could run wild and free,
build ourselves from bottom to top
and top to bottom,
left to right and right to left.
somewhere safe from our past,
where nothing haunts
because there is nothing to be haunted.
where the idea of success
is nothing but mere satisfaction
with the life we have.
do you think
