Eyes tell much —
Often more than we want
Every expression
Every emotion escapes free
As they see

Eyes filter the light of emotion
And unveil the truths
And uncover our facades.

Expressions tumble past our consciousness,
Tiptoeing through our inner walls.
Nothing stops them

Except for the moments our eyes shut to blink,
Covering our colorful irises
But only for a brief moment.

Eyes.
They’re always showing, seeing, shimmering,
The lens of the world focuses into view
Whirring and blinking stalls — but does not distort — the feelings shown.
A perfect photo captured by the shutter

Click.
Every emotion seen by the eyes
Lies permanently engraved by the photographer.
Looks may be deceiving
Yet the eyes show the truth
Altering the photos leave you faltering
And frame these faces as fakes.
