Remember When
Remember when we had meaningful conversations that weren’t on a screen in between satellites
When we could talk to one another rely on each other, face to face express the emotions we had been holding back
Remember when we ran in the streets and skinned our knees and saw each other bleed to remind us that we are human, now we don’t even bother we’re stuck inside unknowing that the world is passing us by
Remember when we would splash in the puddles to wash away our worries when we learned how to cope with the problems around, now we can’t go a week without hearing gunshots flaring and people screaming
Remember when we could all stand hand by hand and pick each other up, now we just turn away with a blind eye
Remember we are people, Remember we need each other, Remember no one can do absolutely everything on their own no matter how hard they try because if they do, eventually, the light will dim and we will be left in silence
