Don't Know Me
You don’t know what it’s like to be the topic of a conversation
Or how it feels to be that one kid in class who’s different
I’m held to these high standards of living with strict expectations
I just wanna live my life, but that’s just my preference
I’ve been through a lot and it just keeps getting tougher it seems
The moment it starts to get better is the same time that it starts to recede
I make jokes about it every now and then
But the real reason why I make those jokes is that it helps me cope
There is a vicious cycle that just repeats over and over again
Beat, left, torn, stronger
Beat, left, torn, faster
Beat, left, torn, wiser
Beat, left, secret survivor
Judge me any way you want
I don’t care
If you could even get a glimpse into my mind
You’d likely be scared
So judge me how you judge me, you don’t see how I see
Because I know for a fact that you don’t know me
