Potential
Who is that?
Like a wolf in the shadows.
Peeking in from the corner of your eye,
Standing at the edge of the crowd,
Afraid to get involved.
No peeking emotions…
She must have been hurt too…
Arms crossed,
Leaning against the wall,
She seems uninterested,
But think of the potential…
All the happiness you two could share…
But no. Remember what happened with the last one?
One night you knew her and the other she was gone.
She left you.
She wanted you for your money,
She wanted you for your love,
But she didn’t want YOU.
The real you…
The one that loves sports while still being a nerd,
The one that grew up with both a book and a ball,
The one who loves rap and classical music,
The one that needs people and friends to thrive,
But those have been scarce recently…
You’ve dropped the book and lost the ball.
As you continue to make sporadic eye contact,
You know you’re only at this party to leave all the pain behind
You don’t want what happened with the last one to repeat,
But what other choice do you have?
Risk it all… dont be afraid to fall...
