Anxiety
I am the pit in your stomach as you speak,
The monster under your bed,
In your closet.
I creep around silently,
Though I am deadly.
I am the bad thoughts,
The butterflies.
The fear and jealousy.
You can’t see me but oh,
I’m there.
Watching,
Waiting,
Crawling through your lungs,
Making them feel,
As if they might just collapse.
I burrow into your dreams,
Causing them to turn dark.
I do this as I please,
Me
I am
Anxiety
