Childhood Memories
I come from childhood memories,
of anxiety and outbursts to cope.
I come from a school which failed in a place of hope.
I come from a place which taught me a wider scope.
My wishes strong, my faith beamed like the sun.
I hated to disappoint, therefore I was broke.
I come from an area where competition puts you in a choke.
I sigh, I was still lost in the smoke.
I wanted to make myself more outspoken.
Seeing the disappointment in my father’s eyes,
the suffering and struggle only marched to the skies.
I was in a trap, perhaps built on lies.
Time denounces value when a child is under stress,
I couldn’t remember the size of my mess.
I might have got over it till I jumped to confess.
When a persona is formed by childhood memories.
