I want to break your pyrite crown,
So I can see the gold come crashing down.
I want to peel off your mask,
So I can see who’s inside.
Then ask…
What’s beneath your charade?
Are you more than you portrayed?
I hope under your cynical skin,
A platinum heart lies within.
I know you are greater than what you say,
Your eyes are the thing that gives it away.
Will you show me the gold inside,
Or will the stuff forever hide?
That is the question.
