The Void of Freedom
I just want to be in space
Where the only company is the stars
Because all of the thoughts I bottle up
keep breaking free from their jars
Let me soak up the darkness
I know the void is the only place
I do not and cannot hurt
And the stars melt the sorrow from my face
Can I fly away in a rocket?
Takeoff takes me further and further away
The place that has never felt like home
For freedom, isolation is the price I pay
I ache to dance with the stars
No longer will deep cutting insults be sung
Shielded; bright lights are my barrier
I’m focused on the stardust that fills each lung
My own personal black hole
No one will notice I’m gone from home
My screams buried beneath oblivion
In my lonesome, I can finally roam
I wish upon that shooting star,
My only flash of hope
To not see my true home
Solely from a telescope
