My First Angel
Her name was Alicia
Or grandma
I don’t remember
But Dad tells me stories
Of how she would sing and dance
A lot like me according to him
When he speaks of her
A tear rolls down his cheek
He says she was a saint
An angel in the flesh
And how she was a great mommy
And now she is with people just like her
I reach out and grab his hand
He looks at me and says
Never forget her
But what is there to forget
I don’t remember
I want to but I can’t
