Dandelion

You look at me as if I were a dandelion in a field of roses
and you’re probably wondering
“A dandelion in a field of roses?
shouldn't it be a rose in a field of dandelions?”
But remember when we were young?
As children we didn’t know a rose had much more value than a dandelion.
we always went for the bright, happy coloured flowers,
even if they were just weeds.
In a field of roses
Your young eyes spotted a brilliant yellow dandelion
And without hesitation,
you plucked me from the ground
