A kitten

wanders,

then stops,

curiously

inquiring.

It’s a pineapple

They’re like volcanoes.

Mysterious

mountainous

exterior,

the top

explodes

sharp

cutting

like knives.

The leaves

are soldiers

standing tall,

representing more.

The root

of the leaves

endless

hide something

special,

quiet,

surreal.

The patterns

on the sides

flow

like a river.

As you look

onto the river,

it’s still,

steady,

there’s so much

unknown

yet you still

hop

right

in.

Grown in hawaii,

people

dance

and sing

to the beat.

Deep skin,

bright smiles,

A unique

atmosphere

you cannot

find

anywhere else.

The bottom

is a farmer.

Beautifully

unappealing.

Working

passionately

with a

purpose.

Purpose

to do

more.

As the farmer

cares for his

pineapple bush

ponders

about the curiosity

of his cat

with the pineapple.

Maybe

it’s shocked

finally

knowing

where

pineapples

come from.
