The Journey's Destination
Two goals, two dreams to aspire to,
But I could not accomplish both
I made the choice that people do,
And chose the wealth instead of growth
The wealth was fun, although I knew
My heart was somewhere else for sure,
I missed the goal that brought anew,
The pride I felt within my core
I slept through nights, and lived through days
Even though I did, unsatisfied
I’d ponder up a million ways
To reach the goal I left behind
Days turned to months, and then to years
Life unfulfilled, but still I tried
I persevered and felt the tears,
And sweat and blood pour past my eyes
The road was long, this I am sure
It took some time to find my way,
To find that pride within my core
The goal was reached this very day!
