Dying of light
In the bed, the Mother lay forlorn,
Those who came never did stay too long.
Her fortitude was beginning to dwindle forever,
Oh! How much she wished for her Son, who would comfort her.
For her dear Son she had waited too long,
She had always feigned that she was not wrong.
Every day she had awaited the arrival of his Son,
Only now did she realize how fatuous her anticipation had become.
Years ago, her life had changed because of her Son’s stark decision.
As the Mother, she had acquiesced to part with all her possessions.
Now, when she needed him the most,
Amidst her world of chaos, he was lost.
She longed for him, and cried for him,
She prayed to the Lord to forgive all his Sins.
The light of hope was dying in her heart,
Somehow, she knew that it was her end and a new start.
At last, her Son came to see her in her lurid state,
He cried and lamented on his fate.
He told her that he believed that she was her guide,
However, all his delicacy was veiled with pride.
Yet, she embraced him with her pale hands,
The light was going deep into the sand.
For the last time she kissed him goodbye,
Then the light of her heart and soul peacefully died.
