father figure
He drowns all of his sorrow in endless beer,
Hiding from the shadows of those once near.
He solves his problems with the blade of a knife,
But his nightmares persuade him to end his own life.
He hurts and he cries but he'll never tell,
His pride is the reason that little girl fell.
His anger is soothed by the whip of his belt,
As if her blood could repair the pain he has felt.
His giddiness sealed her blood-curtailing scream,
I guess that some people aren't all that they seem.
