Social Resistance (Different is Beautiful)
(Verse 1)
When I look around I see my future move
And every girl has beauty, but one
I look in the mirror in the silence of my room
And see it’s me who is coming undone
But I can’t give up now
I know I’m not as spry as them
But I gotta speak up, and be loud
Let go of all the steam and try again
(Chorus)
I’m not gonna stand around and wait for it to end
I’ve got a life under my belt I don’t need their acceptance
Cause I’m not some superficial back-friend
There’s no way I’m gonna let them win
This is my, social resistance!
I’ll show myself out the door
‘Cause I’ve become a bleeding sore
NO MORE!
This is my social Resistance!
(Verse 2)
I’m not some skinny girl; little run way model
But I’m not the popular, nor the geek
And they act like I’m made of metal
I’m human too, so I can easily break!
Still they try to change me like I’m out of place
Well, that’s just who I am! Who cares if I don’t belong?
I think different is beautiful and that’s my case
So, I’m gonna prove them all wrong!
(Chorus)
I’m not gonna stand around and wait for it to end
I’ve got a life under my belt I don’t need their acceptance
Cause I’m not some superficial back-friend
There’s no way I’m gonna let them win
This is my, social resistance!
Now I like who I truly am
They say I can’t but I know I can
And I’ll just wait for a real friend
This is my social resistance!
