Little Sea Shell
You floated away from me,
little sea shell,
from the spot where we played,
floated right out of my hand
My lover, she watched us here,
little sea shell,
she watched you float away,
from where my lover did stand
She had a smile on her face,
little sea shell,
as she watched us two play,
what a pretty smile she had
With her smile you took my heart,
little sea shell,
to the sea’s vast contents
our heart and smile you did add
You’ll come back to us one day,
little sea shell,
of that I can be sure,
but when you come we’ll be gone
We’ll be gone when you come back,
little sea shell,
moved on to other things,
but we’ll be just over yon,
little sea shell
