That Girl Was Me
She was so young
And so full of fear.
Longing for the comfort
She couldn’t find here.
A single bullet,
Is all it would take
To end the life
She had littered with mistakes.
Her hands tremble,
She closes her eyes.
No more time,
No chance for goodbye.
No one tried to help,
Because no one knew.
She didn’t share,
She didn’t want to.
But she opened her eyes
And said not today.
Took a deep breath,
And walked the other way.
She is a strong young woman now,
Who knows her life is worth living happily,
Now she is found, once she was lost.
That girl wis me.
