"Starve a Bully, Feed your Soul, STAND GRAND." -Vincent Castronovo

Doors down the hall
That's how far apart
But the distance says it all
That we feel in our hearts

A flickering candle
But the flame died, I've found
How much can I handle
Without breaking down?

Streams of peers
Flow down the halls
But streams of tears
Flow in the stalls

Creating a river
Of emotional pain
A tiny sliver
Of my depressing rain

I feel that I'm losing you,
Your eyes are cold
And the darkness is diffusing
Throughout my soul

I'm withering away
My heart's to implode
I wish that you'd stayed
I wish you didn't go

The image of a "river of emotional pain" as just a sliver of your pain is so intense.  I know what it is like to see someone's eyes go cold but I could never find the words to express how the "darkness is diffusing throughout my soul".  This is a powerful piece!  Write more!!!
