Here Comes The Tide
The waves crash over my head,
they are warm and never cruel,
I float with the currents pull,
innocent but so harmful...
I am feeling more alone,
Than I ever have before,
The warm will not penetrate,
I am chilled through to my core,
the shackles on my ankles,
keep me grounded, but the tide...
It's coming in so quickly,
there is nowhere to hide.
I was happy in the water,
So dangerous, so new,
I was willing just to do it,
when I laid my eyes on you.
I knew I could dive in,
And you would never hurt me,
But now I'm tied to the ocean floor,
And the tides comes in too quickly.
the waves crash over my head,
And this promise attempts to drown me,
Soon I will forget everything...
And I will float, alone, in this endless sea.
