Strings Attached
Here it comes,
The sting of reality is upon me.
I feel it now,
Sucking out my energy.
It takes my pride,
All that I have worked for is nothing,
All that I've believed doesnt matter,
Because all it is, is hoping.
I can hope for all eternity,
but the rules will still apply,
Until Im completely on my own,
I have no freedom to try.
I have no control over anything.
My life is on a string,
This puppet makes its own faces,
But its actions are not its own doing.
I am only as good as my string master,
Even while I think they're wrong
All I can do is dangle here,
And sing my angry, heartbroken song.
Left right left right,
Up down and down again,
Someday I will cut these strings...
But i can't move, until then.
