Freedom
My lungs are expanding,
From a life so demanding,
I've broken the walls,
I can answer the calls,
nothing can stop me today.
The shackles have fallen,
My heart is through callin'
I am so free again,
I know this isn't the end,
I have a life after 'someday'
My wings, they have been untied,
I spread them and walk with pride,
Showing the dull grey world,
That nothing can kill this girl,
I am too strong to back down.
The sun, it shines on my face
Illuminates their disgrace,
At trying to chain me,
Attempting to drain me,
Of every secret I'd found.
I was found by a selfless boy,
with wings and whole-hearted joy,
He is a friend of my kind,
And for once I don't mind,
I was so tired of being alone.
So go on and tie me up,
empty my living cup,
Nothing you do today,
Will stop me from smiling this way,
I am ready, and I love this unknown
