Paul Revere

Many years ago,
on a starry, starry night,
a stranger came to Lexington,
with eyes like diamonds bright.
He jumped on his horse
and began to ride,
up and down the street yelling
for everyone to hide.
There was going to be an attack
on that poor little city.
Nothing was left behind,
not even a kitty.
But this stranger wasn’t a stranger at all,
for it was Paul Revere,
a local black smith,
a friend so dear.
He saved everyone that night,
riding up and down the street,
yelling “The British are coming, the British are coming!”
For he is o’ so sweet.

Thanks for looking at my few works, I'm glad you liked them. I wrote one other piece too, but it is anonymous, so it doesn't show up on my page. But as you can see by reading my work, I don't have any poems posted. I'm TERRIBLE at poems. You're really good, though, and I think poems are so much harder than stories. Yours are REALLY REALLY good.

aaaw.... thanks....it just comes to me sometimes...but i have read some of your stuff and they arent bad....i cant write responding to prompts very well though...like on my SOL it took me 20 min. just to think of who i would write about...my "gift" comes and goes...but once i get inspired by something it just stays in my mind all day until i can write it down...sometimes they are waaay better when i firt thought them and they get a little less better later...hahaha...but thank you again soooo much..im glad someone lieks them
