Ever since she was a child
The dreamer had felt the magic
She kept it alive deep inside
Though her life was often tragic

Once she had begun to grow
She kept the magic within her heart
But there was anguish as well
That suddenly tore her apart

But what could you say
To the sweet little girl
With red rosy cheeks
And a heart like a pearl

They said “time to grow up,
Fairy tales are a lie.”
She said, “why do you feed me,
This false alibi?”

Life wanted her to move on
But she decided not to go
The magic sparkled in her eyes
But her life was filled with woe

She found her own land
A happy place far far away
One visit to that country
And she was there to stay

But the looking glass was not clear
It didn’t show her this
The glamour was what she saw
A cup filled up with bliss

The colors were too bright
Nothing was truly real
The sweetness turns to pain
One too hard to feel

She looked for an escape
In her new found fairy tale
But that world was a trap
It had become her jail

So she continued to escape
To the land of lightning bugs,
Until it finally killed her.
That’s the danger of doing drugs.
