Thankful

So many things to be thankful for
I don’t know where to begin
Perhaps I’ll go from A to Z
Or I could just start with my kin

I’m thankful for my mom and dad
Who love each other still
My brother and my sister too
Even when they’re overkill

I love my uncles and all my aunts
And, of course, my godparents too
To all the help and love they give
I want to say, “Thank you”

I can’t forget the old relatives
Who know more than you’d want to tell
I’m thankful for new born cousins
And weird ones you don’t know so well

Next I’ll move on to friends
Who have helped me a lot through the years
The advice that they give and shoulders they offer
Is always the up most sincere

I’m thankful for accepting friends
Who love me just as I am
I thank God for my crazy friends
Who help me get out of tough jam

I appreciate all of our adventures
Even when time seems pressed
And I love all our inside jokes
7 seconds is definitely the best

I know y friends are always there
Encouraging me all the way
I want you to know I love you lots
And thanks for being there every day

I’m thankful for the cool autumn air
And, obviously, the warm summer sun
I’m thankful for the rainy days
When I have oh so much fun

I’m thankful for the trees that sway
And all the shade they give
I’m thankful for the sunny rain
Who offers up Roy G. Biv

I’m thankful for the seasons
And all the change they bring
I’m thankful for all the birds
And the joyous songs they sing

For all the colors of every fall
Fresh cut grass, brown crunchy leaves
I’m thankful for nature’s peace
And for all the stress it relieves

And last but not least
The most important to me
I’m thankful for Jesus
Who died on the cross, you see

I’m thankful for the relationship
That God and I can share
I’m glad He made me the way I am
A duplicate, you won’t find else where

I thank Him for everything
He gives more than I deserve
He supplies me with all I need
My praise for Him I don’t conserve

I want to thank God for saving me
For healing, forgiving, and loving
Blessing and discipling me too
Thank you, God, for everything

So many things to be thankful for
I could carry on forever
And I thank you all for reading
(I’ve no way to end this, whatsoever).

I wrote this the four days preceding Thanksgiving in order to express many of the things I am thankful for.
