A Delusion or a Hallucination?

I caught her glimpse –

She was standing in the corner

Of the crowded room.

We had been staring at each other since,

Under the serene moon

Many questions struck me—

Should I approach her?

How should I greet her?

Would she think of me,

As a gentleman or a stalker?

Immersed in my thoughts

Of anticipation

Feeling nothing

But perturbation.

Anxiety had caused my head to droop

With my eyes fixed on the land.

When suddenly on my shoulder,

I felt a hand,

Right in front of me, she stood.

Donning her as elegant as ever look

I was carried by the heavenly flight she took

To a heavenly palace.

And she asked me

“Will you be my Adonis

And dance with me?”

The palace was soaked in quietness.

Her beauty had lifted all my goals.

Now I and she were the only souls,

In the alluring palace,

that granted me calmness.

My tensed look dissolved

And paved a way for a smile,

With all my sadness and problems resolved,

We could’ve danced for the whole night.

With ecstasy elevating inside me,

The surroundings posing serendipity.

We grabbed our arms

And she assured me,

That she would be happy to dance

Till eternity.

We were dancing and dancing

Under the sparkling beauty of the moon.

And laughing and laughing,

Making the best out of the moment

That wasn’t going to end soon.

But suddenly I saw a packed crowd

And the moon hid shyly

 Behind a thick dark cloud.

Though I was still dancing nicely

But the palace had disappeared

And she was nowhere to be found.

I was back in the same room

And yet again after a strenuous search

I caught her glimpse –

She now stood in another corner,

 Of the same room.

I pinched myself

To assure it wasn’t a dream

And as I assured myself

That it wasn’t a dream,

Unexpectedly erupted from me,

A scream.

I searched for a reason,

In my bewildered mind

That had led to that situation,

Unique to its kind.

But I couldn’t reach a conclusion,

If that confusion,

Was caused by my delusion,

Or if it was a repercussion

Of a lover’s hallucination.
