Changing Seasons, Changing Times
Clouds converging on a gray day
The feeling of joy slipping away
A warm summer breeze
Now beginning to freeze
The brightest of days
Becoming a haze
And the happiest times
Not much more than petty crimes
For we try to believe
But we never achieve
The feelings of glee
We saw not so distantly
As the leaves fall away
The tears no longer at bay
Each problem emerging
Never stops surging
Until the flakes fall
Nothing to haul
The calm settles in
A faint glimmer of a grin
When the flowers start to bloom
No longer any gloom
Moods begin to brighten
As loads begin to lighten
The sun’s breaking through
Now a glimmer of blue
Distant sounds of laughter
Now and hereafter

I started writing this poem with depression in mind, but as I began to write it, I decided against that. This poem flowed out of me and I hope you, the reader, enjoy it too.
