To Laugh
A moment where I can escape the trials of this world.
Where I can numb my mind.
My body’s favored defense mechanism.
A way of loosing all thoughts.
A way to forget the pain.
Yet, a way to remember.
When in doubt, laugh.

To cry
A moment where I can escape the trials of this world.
Where I can numb my mind.
My body’s favored defense mechanism.
A way of loosing all thoughts.
A way to forget the pain.
Yet, a way to remember.
When in doubt, cry

i like this one - i like the comparison between the two -especially how they are both a "defense mechanism." it's neat.

Okay, I read your profile and pretty much all of the books and movies and I LOVE THOSE TOO! Ah! So cool to find someone who loves Hornatio Hornblower. Anyway I like your poem. I agree with the laughter and crying because sometimes when I'm stressed I get kind of crazy and I smile weird and I start to laugh. And crying, sometimes I like it when I have a cry because I hate crying but anyway good poem.
