Political Pompeii
Since the beginning of time
Man has went through muck and grime
When America was in its prime
Who knew people would be a mime
Citizen’s mouths shut
While the country’s own prisoners bleed, they’ve been cut
While trying to climb out of the deep rut
Run while you can
Fallen and captive according to plan
Too late now, you’ve been outran
In the palm of pure corruption
Squeezed till you pop as we undergo eruption
Separation of powers fails to function
As we the people make the assumption
Everything is okay they say
Danger is far from the bay
But in reality it’s here and here it will stay
As we burn from the next Pompeii
