Mother and Offspring
Whales of Gray
The color of our sorrow,
Swim together.
The sea they swim in
Hues of blue light and dark,
Embraces and surrounds
Majestic figures
Like the mountains that guide us,
Swim as one
Serenity,
Like an obvious fool in love,
Follows them here and there
Tranquility,
Sister of serenity,
Guides them there and here.
Her pride and joy
Like the joy of all mothers,
Is her baby born.
Bellows and cries
Like music to their hearts,
Sing of their joy.
Together as one
Like the sun and the moon,
Mother and offspring.
