"For most of history, Anonymous was a woman." Virginia Woolf

The tears rolled down her face
falling in a steady rhythm
creating a puddle at her feet
smearing her makeup.

He stood by the wall
laughing at her every move
joking with his friends
embarrassing her even more.

Laughter reached her ears
silencing everything else
blocking voices, even thoughts
secluding them for a mere moment.

She looked into his eyes
her heart showing longing
her eyes whimpering with pain
her mouth opening into a silent scream.

He looked past her out the window
his heart revealing nothing
his eyes showing skepticism
his mouth laughing at her still.
