Cold Night
Driving through the thick white powder
Glistening under the passing lights
The wind roaring with anger
As I watched the destruction it caused
Trees swaying left and right as if
They were at a luau
The little flurries falling from the sky
Growing bigger and heavier
Once reaching the ground
Growing higher and higher
With the night growing older
Our speed grew slower
We came to a halt
The little flurries that once seemed so harmless
Became my prism
With nowhere to go and no way out
We played the waiting game
Speaking to nature as we waited
The wind sharing stories of the night
As we drifted asleep
Awakening the next morning
With the gleam of light in my eye
